Re:Serve Continues Delivering Support to Local Families

MANHASSET, N.Y. — Grocery stores have always been home to a wide variety of foods, foods that will always remain a necessity to all. Yet endless amounts of people continue to be unable to bring home essential groceries from these very stores, defeated by perpetually rising costs beyond their control. In partnership with People Loving People Manhasset, re:Serve has recreated the quintessential grocery store experience to serve groceries to people who need them most.

Reminiscent of grocery stores, this Manhasset initiative offered those in need a wide assortment of groceries to personally select from, all without the barrier of exorbitant prices. re:Serve’s personal donations of fresh produce and bread proved to be highly enjoyable, offering new options to choose from and take home.

At this Manhasset event, re:Serve successfully served over 200 families, creating an immeasurable impact during a time when groceries are becoming infinitely more expensive. re:Serve volunteers ensured that every single one of these families was able to return home with beyond a sufficient amount of groceries, reducing the food insecurity across a myriad of households.

re:Serve cofounder Edwin Chen emphasizes, “Providing all of these groceries for the community is just great. Everyone should be able to have access to groceries, and for us to be able to make that happen is so truly wonderful.”

Committed re:Serve volunteers engaged deeply with the community, serving as helpful guides by assisting all those in need throughout the entire event. From stocking shelves to personally assisting community members, re:Serve volunteers ensured that this event was optimal and ultimately a success.

Creating a perpetual impact within our community is why re:Serve was founded. Forevermore, our mission is to intercept surplus food that would otherwise be trashed and redistribute it to communities in greater need that would perpetually benefit from receiving these perfectly fine groceries.

“Our impact is definitive. With the success of this event, many families were able to obtain groceries. Our mission will never falter, and we plan to extend our outreach to greater heights,” articulates re:Serve cofounder Eason Chen.

Through this event, re:Serve’s provision of groceries will provide indispensable nutrition for countless families throughout the entire community of Manhasset. This re:Serve event was an innumerable success, ultimately reducing food insecurity all across Manhasset by providing critical groceries to many families during these trying times.
